Introduction
The other change is within the magazine. "The Quorndon" always has been and always will be a village magazine, and not a newspaper. We feel this is right for Quorn. There are regular newspapers that cover the day-to-day events in the village. "The Quorndon's" rightful role is complementary to these. We want to provide articles of more general interest, to give all organisations in the village their means of communicating to all villagers, and to support initiatives for the benefit of the village. In the latter group comes the continual support for the Parish Council's work on planning for the future of Quorn. But that does not mean that the style of "The Quorndon cannot change. In this issue we have made some changes to the layout of the pages to make it more interesting for you, and to the grouping of the advertisements and so it should be easier to find the service that you want. Let us know if there is anything else that we should be doing - it's a dull job producing the magazine if we have no feedback (good or bad). So get in touch! Last issue we set a competition to design a card for Quorn. The number of entries was so disappointing that we were unable to run the competition - it would have been unfair on all entrants But thank you to those who took the time and trouble to send us such interesting drawings, in particular to Holly Davies and Caroline Redrup in the 11 -18 age group. Holly and Caroline are pleased to be receiving certificates of entry and thanks.
