Introduction and Happy 5th Birthday to "The Quorndon"

Yet again another issue of "The Quorndon" goes to press, full of information and news, and with this issue, number 20, we have now completed 5 years of publication. From the first issue that went out in December 1995 when we managed to put together 24 pages, we have grown to a consistent 48 or even 56 pages now printed on glossy paper, with the occasional colour front cover. In addition, we now have a highly successful, well established website that has visitors from all over the world looking at what is going on in Quorn.

Thanks to the many contributors we are rarely without news, information and articles - and continue to have a file of articles that have to be held back until the next issue. But we are always looking for more interesting articles and news stories, and we would be delighted to receive more from younger members of the village.

It has not always been an easy time though. We try and put forward balanced articles that are relevant to the village, and generally come from villagers. However, we sometimes find that we have to work with the author before we can publish material to ensure that what we carry is factual and correct. We are always willing to do this, and are pleased to work with anyone who would like to publish information in "The Quorndon".

For the last 5 years, the publication and delivery of "The Quorndon" has been made possible by the support of our advertisers and the Parish Council; to whom we say a big thank you. Do please mention "The Quorndon" when you use one of our advertisers. We are also indebted to our proofreaders, and other helpers around the village.

Finally, we are looking forward to the next 5 years, and we hope you will continue to support "The Quorndon" and keep sending in articles and news.
